The 2012 Gas South Broadway Series

Do you enjoy attending Broadway shows around the Metro-Atlanta area? If so, make sure you check out our series at the Cobb Performing Arts Centre this fall. We’re proud to once again sponsor an excellent line up of shows during the Gas South Broadway Series! The season begins in October with all the ‘Razzle Dazzle” of Chicago, the holidays bring a twist on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet with the gang filled streets of New York City in the 1950’s in West Side Story and the series ends in the springtime taking audiences back to the 1960’s in Las Vegas for Sandy Hackett’s Rat Pack Show.

As a Gas South customer, you can enter our new contest to win a season subscription to this series. Enter by September 15th, 2012 for the chance at 4 orchestra tickets, 1 parking pass, drink tickets and a $25 dining card for each show.

Gas South’s Family Fun Day

There is only one thing that could cause a flicker in Gas South’s flame.  Its Thunder River at Six Flags, which is where we spent last Sunday enjoying a company-wide Family Fun Day!  Each year, Gas South gets all the employees together and their families for some fun and festivities – in appreciation for all the hard work put forth during the year and for our families support of each and every one of us.

We were thrilled to have expanded our family this year!  A few months ago, we in-sourced our call center, so Gas South is now 162 employees strong – all working in Metro Atlanta.  We had 380 folks participate in the fun at Six Flags, with quite a few brave enough to ride Goliath.  Me?  Not so much.  Maybe next year…

Helping You Help Your Community

Have you heard about our City, County & EMC Partner Program yet?  As part of our commitment to the communities we serve, we have teamed up with 10 cities, 6 electric membership corporations (EMCs) and one county to bring our customers even more savings.  New and existing customers in these areas can save an extra 2 cents per therm off any of our standard rate plans, for as long as they remain our customer!  These reduced rates have saved our customers over $4 million since the inception of this program in 2007.

Additionally, these partnerships are a great opportunity for us to give back to the community.  Gas South gives a contribution to our partners for each customer that signs up.  To date, we have given our partners about $4.8 million!  Some communities designate the money for a particular project and the EMCs usually use their portion to lower their electricity rates for their customers. For example, the City of Kennesaw put their $100,000 from the program towards renovations at Swift-Cantrell Park.

An Introduction from Kevin Greiner, CEO

Here at Gas South, we have always taken great pride in being actively involved in enriching the communities we serve.  Beyond simply providing natural gas, our employees have always worked hard to ensure that we are actively engaged in helping our local neighborhoods grow stronger.  We work hard to inform and interact with our customers online through social media outlets, like Facebook and Twitter and now through our brand new blog, The Hot Spot.
